Who we are
SV Autos is a mobile mechanic business run by James Snow, a sole trader trading as SV Autos. James Snow is the data controller responsible for your personal information.

The information we collect
When you get in touch through the website, by phone, by WhatsApp or by email, we collect:
- your name, phone number and email address
- your town or postcode, so we know where you are
- the service you need and anything you tell us about the car, including the registration if you give it
- any other details you choose to include in your message
When you use the website, we also collect basic usage information, such as which pages are visited, which site you arrived from and the country the visit came from. This is counted without cookies and without anything being stored on your device, and none of it identifies you or follows you to other websites.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To reply to you and quote for the work. We use your contact details and what you tell us to get back to you, give you a price and carry out the job. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in running the business.
- To keep records. If you become a customer, we keep records of the work and payment. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest and our legal duty to keep tax and accounting records.
- To understand how the website is used. We count visits so we can see which pages are helpful and improve the site. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running and improving the website. Because the counting is anonymous and stores nothing on your device, there is nothing for you to consent to and nothing to switch off.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information and we do not share it for advertising. We do use a small number of trusted providers to run the business, and they only process your information on our instructions:
- Resend and Amazon Web Services, to deliver the emails our website sends
- Cloudflare, which hosts and serves the website
- Cloudflare again, for anonymous, cookieless visit counts
- Trustindex, which displays our Google reviews on the site
- QuickBooks (Intuit), for invoicing and accounts if you become a customer
- Meta, if you choose to message us through the WhatsApp button
We may also share information where we are required to by law, for example with HMRC or if properly requested by a public authority.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for up to 24 months and then delete them, unless you become a customer. Where you become a customer, we keep the records of your job and payment for six years, as we are required to for tax purposes. You can ask us to delete your information at any time and we will do so where we are not required to keep it.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not use cookies, and it does not store anything on your device. There are no advertising cookies, no tracking cookies and no analytics cookies, which is why you were never asked to accept any. We removed Google Analytics in September 2026 for exactly that reason.
We still count visits, using Cloudflare’s anonymous measurement. It records the page, the site you came from and the country, and it does this without a cookie and without any identifier for you, so one visit cannot be linked to another or to you.
Your web host and ours process your IP address in order to deliver the page to you, and to keep the site secure, which every website has to do. We do not use it to build a profile.
Your rights
Under data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong
- ask us to delete your information, where we are not required to keep it
- ask us to restrict or object to how we use it
To exercise any of these, email info@svautos.uk. If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, though we would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Keeping your information safe
We take reasonable steps to protect your information and only give access to it to people who need it to do their job. No system is completely secure, but we work to keep the risk low.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of the page.
